feeling low energy today but here is a couple of bits of my thought for starters

why i am uncomfortable about people being superoverpaid
a person puts in one hour of his life to contribute his work to society and gets to take out about a million hours of other people's work
[based on the world average hourly payrate of US$10 an hour [1999] if you pay all housewives and tertiary students who are working too at the present time the world average is about US$15 an hour based on 6% p a global inflation]
that means that others put in a million minus one hours' work that they dont get to get out ie slavery injustice theft violence escalation extinction for the human race
justice is equal pay for equal work
injustice is theft theft makes angry angry makes violence violence destroys everyone's quality of life
the world is very violent human quality of life is now very low violence war and weaponry have grown for millenia injustice has grown for millenia
everyone knows that violence is generated by injustice ppl need only think of what would happen if a govt say took say 90% of aftertax income off 90% of citizens and gave all that to 1% of citizens to see the connection between injustice and violence
everyone knows that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer everyone knows that this means that the rich get more and more money per unit of work they do and the poor get less and less money per unit of work
everyone knows that this has gone on for millenia
now 1% get 90% of world income while doing less than 1% of the work less than 1% of the work because the very rich dont have to work and often dont while the poor are forced to work by their poverty
also i am uncomfortable because money is power and extreme unevenness of money is extreme imbalance of power ie tyranny and slavery undemocracy anarchy
the founding fathers of america believed that avoidance of concentration of wealth was necessary to have the american dream of freedom from tyranny they passed laws to prevent wealth concentration and many presidents have spoken against wealth concentration the price of liberty is eternal vigilance eternal vigilance to prevent extreme limitless wealth concentration the american people were totally unvigilant and now they are under a powerful tyranny still thinking that they are free and democratic despite all the evidence of corruption of freedom and democracy
wealth concentration has to be unjust if a person works 100 hours a week for 50 years he or she will earn just US$2.5 million at world average hourly payrate and no one working 100 hours a week average for 50 years is going to be working harder than the world average hardness per unit of time therefore US$2.5 million represents the maximum or more than the maximum that a person can contribute by their *work*
people are paid for other things besides their work eg in new technology there is inbuilt scarcity new product production just starting up but demand is high everyone wants one so the high ratio of price to cost is a reflection of scarcity of ratio of low supply and high demand not work
people think oh if he can make that much money good luck to him and someone is just envious if they object but the consequences are disastrous that person could not go out into nature and build 10 $1 million houses in one hour whatever his genius or abilities or skills therefore it is clearly not he that made that money that money is a legal theft legal but still theft and theft makes wars and wars accelerate even if the injustice is not increasing which it always is a static nonincreasing injustice will produce accelerating violence as both sides try to prevail
because of this and all the many other wideopen legal thefts in the system we have a situation where 1% suck up 90% of the money and power and the rest of us are left with the deprivation the anger and the violence war and weaponry have increased steadily relentlessly for millenia with injustice in pay with tyranny
our allowing 1% to take 90% of world earnings 90% of world products of work means not only slavery and wage slavery but violence war and crime which is escalating to extinction soon we cannot afford the luxury of giving 90% to 1% if we want to survive
the social pool of wealth is made up of the products of work if one person takes out a million hours worth of products every hour he works while a million minus one others work an hour each for no pay
bill gates's average takeout has been 'only' 50,000 hours work out for every one hour put in only his peaks have been up to 1,000,000 hours work out per hours work in but a certain druglord's income has been over $10 million per hour
it takes only 4000 people taking out a million hours work per hours work in to drain all the work products or wealth in the world we dont have that but we do have something close to 8000 people taking out between a million hours work per hours work in down to taking out one hours work for each hours work in which takes all the world income just the same we have a situation just 10% away from 1% taking 100%
please note we have a situation just 10% away from 1% taking 100%
you will agree that 1% taking out 100% cannot be good so you will agree that 1% taking out 90% is not good
it leaves the 99% to take out 10% it means 50% of humans take out less than 1% [US$750 per family per year] of world average hourly pay per hours work it means 90% take out less than 10% [US$7500 per family per year] of world average hourly pay and it means 99% take out less than world average hourly pay per hours work
there are many legal thefts in the system another example a person buys land does nothing others build a city around that land making it more valuable and the owner reaps the wealth instead of the people who built the city around it and made it valuable as henry george says
again, land is a monopoly and very few own most of the land so others are forced to pay the monopoly price
again, monopoly itself govts cannot remove all traces of monopoly in the state so monopoloid forces reap where they did not sow
we are not talking about taking selfearned money off anyone we are talking about taking otherearned money off people and giving it back to the people who made the goods
it ought to be clear that there is extreme overpay and underpay but i fear it is not clear and i fear it is not possible to make it clear although the reality could not be more stark
again there is payment for brains skills rare abilities talents etc but this is not work this is a gift which the person has received from mother nature justice would pay a person for every bit of work they did like studying practising etc hence paying tertiary students but not pay for nature's gifts not only because the person did no work for them but also because any payment for such gifts must come from the less gifted and what reason can be given for demanding that the ungifted pay for the gifted? what reason can be given for fining or taxing the less gifted to fund payment for gifts do we pay ppl for getting christmas gifts? why are we thinking it is sane to pay ppl for having gifts of nature? why are we doing insane things?
ppl want to protect the practice of paying unlimited fortunes because they imagine it is a freedom they wish for themselves and therefore want to retain they do not realise that freedom of overpay is freedom of theft and freedom to enslave these overfortunes cost humans 90% of their earnings 90% of their freedom 90% of their safety 90% of their happiness 90% of their progress 90% of their sanity and looks to rob them soon of 100% of their future
even if unlimited fortunes could be just there would still be good reason to prohibit them because wealth is power and extreme imbalance of power is tyranny and slavery tyranny for a fraction of 1% and slavery for 90%
and extreme tyranny means that the 1% can decide to have wars and force the 99% to fight them and that has been the way of the world for millenia if earnings are justly spread there will not be many wars since the just 99% of people do not want war and the 1% will not have power to force the 99% to war and the 99% will not have cause for war
ppl think that we ought to pay for things like responsibility and ppl think that we do pay for them however it cannot be that we do pay for them because we know neither how to measure responsibility nor how much to pay per unit of responsibility we merely assume that we pay for such things some are more highly paid and we say it is because of responsibility but how do we know there is more responsibility? we assume it merely because they are paid more and anyway it is clear that equally responsible jobs are paid all over the range of pays from low to high
not even the 1% overpaid benefit from this super extreme range of pay because the greater the overpay the greater the underpay and the greater the resentment of the overpay and the more reason there is to try to steal back the overpay or plunder every empire has risen with equality and justice and fallen with excess plunder super wealth and super poverty obviously the motivation for the plundered to plunder back plunder is proportional to the ratio of overpay to underpay danger of overpay is directly proportional to quantity of overpay
whereas the upside of overpay suffers rapidly diminishing returns because fairpay satisfies almost all desires small and large gold taps just dont add much happiness but add a lot more danger eg the french aristocracy guillotined the roman emperors assassinated the kings fallen in battle the organised crime bosses gunned down
ppl argue that if you pay everyone the same hourly rate there will be no incentive to work hard and no penalty for slacking but slackers still get noticed and get fired and it is impossible to work much harder than the average *per hour* what can the hardest working ceo or truckdriver or waiter do that an average working ceo driver waiter cant do in the same time? can he walk around the office faster? he can read faster but that is skill or talent a gift of nature can he dictate letters faster? most ppl work reasonably hard per hour there is in almost every case someone having an eye on others it is harder to try and sneakily work less hard than simply to work it is impossible to hide slacking longterm little things give the person away
and none of the reasons for higher than average hourly pay stands up to investigation of reason except for study and training if you pay for tertiary study there is no justice-need to pay for having studied
experience is gained on the job and therefore is already paid for it is natural that more experienced workers will be better generally but they did nothing unpaid for to acquire this experience the increased ability was a gift of the work experience for which they were paid
ppl seem to hate justice but justice is their friend if they only knew it the greatest personal security device is to injure no one injustice in pay is a great injury and the golden rule correctly states that ppl generally resent injury pay between 10th and 1000th of the world average hourly payrate is enormous injury and causes enormous loss of quality of life to all
there is enough income for every family in the world working average hard to be paid US$75,000 a year ie the family working average hard is creating US$75,000 worth of wealth in goods and services that would free up 90% of brains to go to university and speed knowledge forward 10 times faster it would free everyone up from all waste and grief from all the violence generated by the theft of 90% of income the currently overpaid would be much happier with virtually as much pleasure and far far less danger the underpaid would be freed from having to fight the wars of the superoverpaid from having to bear with the will and whim of the tyrannical superoverpaid disease would be far less as everyone would have plenty to pay the costs of fighting disease ignorance would be far less and ignorance breeds fanaticism and bigotry
if you had a community in which everyone worked and some imp took most money off most ppl and gave it all to one wd it not be obvious that the sane thing to do wd be to undo the imp's piece of mischief and give back the money? if the one person held on to the money wd not that make him very vulnerable to the crowd's anger?
inequality is built in to transaction itself the two things exchanged cannot be equal in value so a little drop of inequality exists one ends up with a bit less the other with a bit more over trillions of transactions that drop of inequality injustice and theft must create an everstretching bell curve of injustice and every trader is doing the best to increase that drop of inequality of theft the merchant buys cheap sells dear it is hard to get $1 for nothing but easy to get $11 for $10 worth of goods ie the total costs including fairpay for seller's time equal less than price so this is the fundamental cause for the ceaseless automatic drift of wealth from earners to nonearners the inbuilt inequality that has become the roaring ocean we live and die on
i am not advocating the removal of the profit system just the removal of the extremely harmful extreme effects by limiting maximum fortune to the utter maximum wealth one person can create by their own work mother nature creates the wealth created by natural gifts
hourly pay is from a million times to 1000th of average if the ocean was like that the ocean crests would be 10 times past the moon far far far worse than a 'perfect storm' we are all on this ocean overpaid and underpaid are suffering a giant seasickness from this drop of inequality for so long multiplied
and we have in the last 50 years gone from being able to firestorm a city to being able to iceage the planet 60 times over exploding one 60th of the bombs we have wd put up enough smoke to drop the world temp permanently three times lower than an iceage
isnt it clear we have to face the fact of injustice?
justice is a cause of happiness because injustice is resented and breeds endless increasing violence we have super extreme injustice ***therefore we can be super extremely happier*** isnt that certainly true?
i know you cannot think that the persons working at world average hardness have worked 1000 times harder per hour than the lowest paid person and i know you cannot think that the highest paid person has worked a million times harder than the averageworker per hour
millenia of technology have made our economy global trains and boats and planes our shop shelves are international disease and anger and danger is international eg the russian mafia now in america our defense is an international affair we fight internationally
we have to govern globally ppl have to think globally in order to have democracy
ppl argue that equal pay wd be unfair because work is unequal but this argues only for unequal pay in proportion to unequal work it does not prove that any inequality is fair there are an infinite number of possible inequalities and only the one that matches work to pay is correct and produces happiness
somehow ppl think that the present injustice works for them although 99% of ppl wd be better paid with justice ppl think that 1% having 90% of world income US$70 trillion a year is good why is it that it occurs to no one that shovelling 90% of money at 1% is shovelling 90% of power at 1%? apparently 99% of ppl are the opposite of greedy for they accept having far less than others who cannot have done *proportionately* more work why is it that no one thinks i am working hard saving hard therefore something is wrong if someone has a million times as much as i do?
why do ppl argue that ppl are being paid for genius unique talents etc when it is clear that no one can measure genius etc and no one can know how much ought to be paid per unit of genius etc? when it is clear that wealth is not proportional to brains or talent or skills?
why does it occur to so few that inheritance is purely unjust clearly money for no work? and that therefore is a license to take out work products without putting in an equal amount of work thus robbing all others? why do people not see that if instead of inheritance bloated fortunes were distributed among everyone that everyone wd get more inheritance money than with the present private inheritance? and that this wd prevent tyranny and exploitation and injustice wars and crime?
ppl dont seem to have the mind to see injustice to see themselves being robbed why does no one think to ask what the world average pay per hour is so they know by how much they are being underpaid? ppl are not even interested in the fact that 1% take 90% of world income and world power it is very strange ppl like money and the power it gives and yet they dont get interested in 1% getting 90% of both they dont feel cheated
there would be far cheaper money with equality and justice because capital formation is greatest with equality as john galbraith dean of economists says america and post revolution france were founded on equality and they both let equality slip away without a fight or a word
the relentless escalation of war and weaponry for millenia should have everyone very worried very interested in discovering the cause but no not a bit it's weird
everyone is very happy when a war ends and yet no one studies the cause of war to remove war they just go to the movies and watch portrayals of the horrors of war

humanity is in a mess a giant mess humanity needs a complete rebuild a complete redesign from the ground up
let's start with ethics
ethics to date has been based on blame and punishment this is nonsense we didnt make ourselves how are we to blame? we can take responsibility but it isnt our fault we have to take responsibility to save ourselves because no one else will but we are not to blame
ethics is supposed to be the pursuit of our happiness ethics is supposed to be for us not against us true ethics is loving true ethics is to help us to guide us lovingly to increase our happiness
some people have been selling and most of us have been buying into a false ethic that ethics is about being a good person that is a good person according to someone's notion of goodness a true good person is a person who is good at pursuing their happiness who is good at being happy who can get happiness right more often than most
we have been trained to despise our own happiness to think our happiness is unimportant whereas our happiness is everything we have been sold ideas that thinking of yourself is selfish and bad and this idea is so obviously wrong and unloving that people have turned their backs on ethics ethics long ago went bad and people are not fond of ethics ethics has been given a bad name and a bad concept and now the word ethics turns people off
we are ourselves and that gives us the right to pursue happiness
we think we are pursuing our happiness but we are pursuing it in such a frame of misconception and unloving ethics that we are pursuing our happiness with little sense
the root of sense is pursuing your own happiness shamelessly proudly the whole of duty is pursuing your own happiness humanity has been given a deep sense of shame about pursuing their own happiness people are vulnerable to criticism and this has allowed certain people to make most people ashamed of shameless open proud pursuit of happiness and this has detached humanity from the fundamental that can lead to happiness pursuit of your happiness is the anchor of life the soul of life and certain people have detached humanity from strong allegiance to themselves
you are you and you are your business your duty your right
the concept of duty has been twisted to nonsense duty has been given a bad name no one wants to hear of their duty it always means someone else's idea of what i should be doing but people are vulnerable susceptible no one likes to disobey it makes them feel bad so people get drawn into obedience to someone else's will the desire to manipulate others is a disease and the susceptibility to be manipulated to others' wills is a disease
it may be a survival benefit for little children to obey before they have knowledge of the world but we are supposed to transition to selfobedience as soon as we have basic knowledge of the world teenagers rebel if the obedience system is kept up too long but even in their rebellion there is submission to the obedience culture and people are rarely taught selfobedience which is responsibility most people are living according to rules set by others and thinking this is goodness
but isnt it selfish to think only of yourself? the concept of selfishness has been distorted and mistaught the badness of selfishness does not lie at all in thinking of yourself in pursuing your own happiness 100% of the time the badness of selfishness lies entirely in not thinking of the effects of your actions on others while you are pursuing your happiness 100% of the time you are supposed to pursue your happiness 100% of the time and spend a lot of that time thinking what effects your actions will have on others and how that will affect your happiness because you are connected to others and others are connected to you thinking of others is part of being realistic and being realistic is an essential part of pursuing your happiness the bad selfishness is hurting yourself by hurting others the good selfishness is pursuing your happiness 100% of the time
the goal of life is maximum possible happiness how can this be achieved without everyone aiming and striving for it? the people who have undermined pursuit of happiness have done the worst thing possible pursuit of happiness is the only sensible thing once that is compromised and undermined all sense is lost humanity is lost to sense humanity is driven to confusion and complete waste of life
the determined confident wholeminded pursuit of your happiness is already happiness because it is already loving and already sense the unconfident confused halfhearted pursuit of your happiness is already loveless and senseless
there are those who would have others obey them and humanity is so humble it falls for this false ethic of obeying others and even when there is enough spirit in the human to rebel against the mindlessness and lovelessness of making yourself a robot of another's will still the power of custom and convention often eats away at the selfconfidence the rebel is not sure he.she is right and is unhappy and confused
obedience is wrong and disobedience is no more right disobedience is just obedience with a minus sign the true ethical behaviour is thinking mindfully towards what will maximise your happiness and neither obedience nor disobedience is a mindful careful selfloving pursuit of your happiness
no one particularly likes the idea of responsibility this word too has been perverted by those who wish to have others as robots of their will true responsibility is responsibility for pursuing your happiness you have a right to pursue your happiness not just some of the time all of the time and not just a right a duty to yourself the whole of duty is pursuit of your own happiness
how simple is the golden rule? that it is unwise to hurt or injure others because the chances are good that this will bounce back on you the reason that people are going to pay attention to the golden rule is because it helps their own happiness but the screwed up ethics we have bought into undermines the reason for liking the golden rule the golden rule makes sense because i will get hurt but we have been taught that it is shameful to care about others only for your own sake but on the other hand this is the only rational basis for caring for others this is the only good solid reason for caring for others
what has happened is that almost no one grasps the golden rule no one loves the golden rule no one benefits from the golden rule by trying to put the golden rule on an irrational basis of just do it because it is nice people have separated humanity from reason and pursuit of happiness the worst thing that could happen to anyone what greater error can there be than to separate humanity from sense and pursuit of happiness? this is what has happened and this is why no one cares how much they are hurting others because the common ethic does not care for them no one particularly wants to hear about the golden rule the golden rule has been given a bad name no one likes it and yet it is a great means for increasing happiness
the joy excitement and meaning of life is wholly in pursuing your happiness with all your wits and resources the more intensely you devote yourself to pursuit of your happiness the more excited joyful and confident of the meaningfulness and lovingness of life you will be
the more you pursue your own happiness the more you will take note of the twoway connections between you and others the less you pursue your own happiness the less you will take note of the twoway connections between you and others and the more you will hurt and injure others and the more you will be hurt and injured
the more important you are to yourself the more important other people will be the less important you are the less important you will think others are
the person who cares nothing for others has never had an inkling of caring for himself.herself the mafia boss the serial murderer has no idea that he is supposed to care for himself that suggestion has never entered his.her life
try to look in the mirror and say i am going to care for you i love you and i devote my life to caring for you you will find it hard you will probably be embarrassed this is the power of the misethic in human lives this is a measure of the disengagement from our own lives it is hard enough to avoid pitfalls without letting go the very will to be happy and we have under coercion let go the ardent confident will to maximise our own happiness
for each person there is provided one person to care for that person you the human world is full of people who do not know this who have been estranged from proper natural healthy selflove
look at animals every minute they pursue their happiness they are utterly unseparated from proper natural selflove take them as a model of how to be if you want to be good if you want to be sensible if you want to be alive if you want to be joyful if you want meaning in your life
let us look at how sensible obedience isnt are you supposed to obey another? is everyone supposed to obey another then? then who is to be obeyed? are some meant to obey and others to be obeyed? then who is to know who belongs to which group? are there some who know the right thing to do and others who are quite ignorant of the right thing to do? then how will we know who is right? how can people who do not know the right thing to do know who is to be obeyed? to understand that someone is to be obeyed i would have to be as wise as they are in order to know their superiority and then they would not be superior if i am inferior and should obey i cannot know who to obey who knows my case better than me? who can drive my car better than me? should i let someone else drive my car from their car? who has the data on me? i have 100 times more data on myself than anyone else does how can it be good to put my mind up on blocks and use another's mind? how can it be good to relinquish the wheel to another who must drive his own car? i alone have the will for myself and the data on myself i am me how can another care for my happiness more than i can? how can another know more about me than i can?
i may be far from perfect but i am far and away the best person to drive the car of my life for one thing i am always on hand to give advice
people look to others for love but others can love you only as much as they love themselves and why waste the resource you have on hand in yourself to love yourself? give your heart to yourself utterly love yourself limitlessly wish yourself the best the very best you can give yourself from life
we are a herd animal a pack animal but we must not let our submission to the herd interfere with our selflove we must not mindlessly go with the herd that is jumping off a cliff who will say what is good for us if not us? if we ourselves do not think what is best how can we sure anyone else is doing that?
everyone is obeying everyone else everyone is looking outward for guidance everyone is leaning on everyone else and everyone is fallen over people who have thought that happiness lay in having others slave to them have promoted obedience and obedience has become the social norm idea of goodness but obedience is mindless so humanity is mindless
the person who is maximally devoted to their own happiness will be extremely nice to everyone in order to maximise the pleasantness and safety of their environment which is made up largely of other people they will do this out of natural proper good selfishness and everyone will benefit from the sanity and the meaningfulness and the lovingness
the person who is maximally devoted to themselves will be extremely active in establishing where and how they are hurting others you cannot be good without maximally loving yourself
the person who is truly good will hunt the world for good advice but they will grind others' ideas in their own mill
it doesnt matter how high the authority is you can never be sure that the authority is right if the authority is right there will be good reasons why they are right you have to understand the reasons or else you are not being rational blind obedience to even the highest authority is irrational is nonsense means disaster would the perfect authority want you to be irrational? would the perfect authority be loveless? can irrationality be loving? can words be taken a number of different ways? do people arrive at different conclusions from the same writing?
conscience is another ethical word that no one likes to hear because it has been given a bad meaning true conscience is asking yourself is this the best course for me? is this lifestyle this career the best for my happiness? is this the most fulfilling path? am i blocking happiness from myself somehow because of my assumptions beliefs convictions ideas? am i somehow dooming myself to less than maximal happiness by some prejudice some limitation of vision? am i entertaining reality or hiding in some fantasy of reality? am i missing something? overlooking something staring me in the face? in this way true conscience is exciting fun challenging meaningful loving living
think of it as a game to strive to get the most happiness points in this life with this limited imperfect brain and understanding
since playing the game of pursuit of happiness is always happiness it doesnt matter what happens to us in this dangerous world we can always play the game and therefore we can always be happy at least inwardly
what is it that is souldestroying about life? what is souldestroying about life is the absence of true conscience the loss of the pursuit of your own happiness our pursuit of happiness can be lost in our going along society tells us what to do the degree to which we question and decide what is best to do is the degree to which we live our lives mere disobedience is not questioning and deciding what is best for us it is merely doing the opposite of obedience and is as mindless as obedience
